We use the apostrophe to show ownership. The possessive apostrophe tells us who the things belong to. For example:
The dog's bone = the bone belongs to the dog SO dog has the possessive apostrophe - 's
the cat's bell = the bell belongs to the cat SO cat has the possessive apostrophe - 's

Add the possessive apostrophe and correct punctuation to these sentences:

the mans hat

the boys trousers

Tuesday

Add the possessive apostrophe and correct punctuation to these sentences:

Jamal is looking at Saras bike
we all like playing with Ninas pet

Leos brother played catch with us

Wednesday

Possessive apostrophes can help us to shorten sentences, for example:

The car belonging to Anna - Anna's car
A house belonging to Steve - Steve's house
The ball belogning to David - David's ball

Use a possessive apostrophe to shorten these sentences and show who the items belong to:
A pen belonging to Simon
A laptop belonging to Meena
A  truck belonging to Norman
A balloon belonging to Irene
A sandwich belonging to Ali

Thursday

Go around your family and write a sentence for each one including a possessive apostrophe. For example: My Mum's ring is on the table.

My Dad's shoes are on the floor.

Friday

Choose your own imaginary setting and write a sentence for its inhabitant's belongings using a possessive apostrophe.

For example:

The Alien's tentacle is wiggling behind the astronaut's spaceship.

Thr Queen's crown is on the thrown beside the unicorn's bed.
