The Hajj is a special pilgrimage all Muslims are meant to go on before they die.
What is a pilgrimage?
A pilgrimage is a special journey and the Hajj is a pilgrimage to Mecca. The Prophet Muhammad was born in Mecca.
When Muslims pray they always face towards Mecca. Lots of Muslim prayer mats have compasses in to help people work out where Mecca is.
Look at the PowerPoint below and then have a go at designing your own prayer mat. Use the images as inspiration.
