For the next week, we are going to practice some special friends. Remember, these sounds are special because they have two letters but only make one sound.
Today we will practice the 'sh' sound.
Parents: Look at the pictures below with your child. Say each object name, and ask your child to repeat the words after you.
Parents: To help your child remember the sounds tell them this story - "The horse says shh to the hissing snake." Now, look at the pictures below with your child. Point to one of the pictures, and ask your child whether it is 'sh' or 'sh says the horse.' Repeat a few times, getting quicker each time.
Now, practice saying these sounds.
In your busy work books, practice writing today's sound 'sh'. Don't forget to use the rhyme to help you!
Now, practice writing these sounds.
