Today, we are going to practice the short 'oo' sound. Remember, at phonics time, we learn two 'oo' sounds. Today, we are learning the 'oo' sound, in words such as, 'book' and 'look'. We have put eyes in the 'oo' sound to remind you that it is the short not the long sound.
Parents: Say this sentence to your child: oo look at a book.
Now, practice saying the new sound together. If you are unsure how to pronounce this sound, watch the short video at the bottom of this page.
