In Maths, children develop their understanding of comparison and number and have lots of opportunities for sorting and categorising, making comparisons between quantities.

Children develop number awareness through number rhymes and songs as well as play/ exploration of toys and equipment.

Shape play is an excellent opportunity for problem solving, too.
