In English during the first spring half term Year 2 have been learning about non-fiction text. We have written our set of instructions and will be using our edit and improve skills to create some very exciting writing.
2M chose sandwich making for their instructions and had lots of fun making then eating their creations before the writing process began.
2C made 'How to Trap a Dragon' instructions by incorporating some Talk 4 Writing. We planned together using a story map then gathered all the materials we would need to build dragon traps. 2C were very pleasantly surprised when they managed to catch themselves two baby dragons who now reside happily in our book area, the children then wrote a set of dragon trapping instructions independently.
