Funky Friday

Today is Funky Friday!

Yesterday we made a bus out of recyclable things. We will start today with a song about a bus!

Now as it's Funky Friday, it's time to shake and move our bodies!

Shake and Move Children's song | Body Parts | Patty Shukla

Now you can do some moving to the sounds you hear in the words. The sounds you hear in a word are syllables. This is the syllable song;

Next think about the syllables in your name; clap it out;- Say your name and clap it out like this:

      –Naim= 2 claps Na im or Tom is 1 clap.

If you child still wants to move their bodies, you could invent some games and races together! (Running, hopping, jumping throwing balls in to a basket or bin, crawling under obstacles)

Literacy

Can you think of some words that start with the same sound? These words start with ‘c’ – cat, cup, can. These words start with ‘m’ – mum, mat, man.

Challege; Can you think of words that start with ‘s’ or ‘t’ How many word can you think of?

Make it easier; Just use one sound – say Mmmmm and say words which begin only with m. You can emphasise M and your child can repeat it. They may enjoy making a long mmmmmmat or mmmmmug.

Now it is time for today's story:

Challenge; Can you find groups of 7 objects in your house? Count them and write 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 in your busy books.

Can you count to 7 and down again?
