Information for Parents

The Reception class teachers are Miss Dodgson (RD) and Mr Kirkbride (RK)
Our learning support assistants are Mrs Szelast, Miss Eaton, Miss Pritchard and Miss Stead.

We hope your child really enjoys their Reception year at Lawrence Primary!

In Early Years, there are seven areas of learning and development: Personal, Social, Emotional Development, Physical Development, Communication and Language, Literacy, Maths, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design. Children will have daily phonics, maths and topic focused sessions delivered through adult-led activities both as a whole class and in small groups. The children also have the opportunity to pursue their own, child-initiated activities and interests. Click on the coloured pencils below to look at our wonderful work.

- We have P.E on a Monday morning (RK) and a Tuesday morning (RD) which all children need a PE kit for (navy shorts, a white T-shirt and pumps).
- Reception uniform is blue jogging bottoms, a yellow polo shirt, a Lawrence jumper and black shoes or pumps.

- The children bring home reading books to read at home.  The reading books are changed weekly and the children are also read with in school. Please bring your book bags in everyday.
