Today you are going to create an acrostic poem.

An acrostic poem is a type of poetry where the first, last or other letters in a line
spell out a particular word or phrase.

The most common and simple form of an acrostic poem is where the first letters of each
line spell out the word or phrase

Challenge - Make an acrostic poem using your name and another topic of your choice. Illustrate your poetry.

Do you remember when we learned all about what we need to be healthy in our science topic?
We found out that we needed:

We talked a lot about how having a positive attitude could affect
how we felt and how healthy we were.

At the moment while things are a bit crazy in the world and our school is close it is sometimes difficult to keep a positive attitude and so to help to keep us focused on positive things we are going to create a gratitude jar together.

Draw a big jar like this in your busy book.

Inside the jar draw or write all of the things that make you feel happy and that you are grateful to have. This can be people, places, things, sounds, tastes, smells - anything at all!

If you find yourself feeling a bit sad or worried about things that are happening look at your jar and remember how many wonderful things there are in your life
