We are working on counting accurately.
This involves touching each object one-at a time as you say the number names in order.
It is initially easier to count a smaller set of objects.
Count the apples on each line on the activity sheet below:
Singing number songs will help children to remember the order of the number names:
Including counting in your everyday experiences at home can have a big impact on children's learning.
Build in counting into your routines at home:
- count the stairs as you are going up or down
- count people in the room
- count cushions on the sofa
This week, we are also looking at simple shapes.
