Well Done! Today, we are going to practice our adding skills again, so you will need your adding brains switched on. Like yesterday, we are going to use a number line to help us find the answer, but today, we are going to use a number line up to 20, so we hope you are ready for a big challenge!
We have done the first one for you 11+5 =
Remember, we find the first number from the sum (11), and put a circle around it, like this:
Next, we look at the second number in the sum (5), and then, we jump forwards this amount of spaces along the number line, like this:
The number it lands on, is the answer to the sum so, 11+5=16
Now, its your turn.
8+4=
10+3=
12+5=
14+6=
Parents: To make this activity easier for your child, draw the number lines in their busy books.
