Do you know what month it will be tomorrow?
Here are today's busy work activities.

Parents: Ask your child to write the following words in their busy work books.
Boys and girls, remember to use your 'Fred Fingers' to help you.

As a challenge, your child could write a simple sentence: a duck is sad.
Now, let's play 'Odd Sound Out' .
This is a new game. Look at each picture and say what you see. Listen to the first sound you make as you say each word. Which of those four sounds is different to the others? That is the odd card out.
Chat on the Mat Time
Our new topic, for Chat on the Mat Time, is all about things that grow. Last week, you learnt about what a plant needs to help it grow, such as water, air and sun.
Today, we are going to learn about the life cycle of a sunflower. This is the journey a flower will go on, once the seed has been planted. Click on the icon below to learn more about this.
Now you have looked at the Life Cycle of a Sunflower, let's play a quiz. Tell your grown up the answers.
1. What does a sunflower start off as?
2. The seed starts to grow after 1-2 weeks. What happens next?
3. After a little while, what happens to the sunflower?
4. What happens to the seeds that fall from the sunflowers head?
Well done. Once the seeds fall onto the ground, the life cycle will start all over again.
Today, we are learning more about 3D shapes - remember, a 3D shape is a solid shape (a fat shape).
First, let's practice saying the names of the 3D shapes we learnt yesterday, using the pictures below.
Ask a grown up to help you if you get a little bit stuck.
Now, it's time to go on a 3D shape hunt around your home.
First, draw the table below in your busy books. Now it's time to be shape detectives..
Look all around your home, what shapes can you see? Each time you spot a shape, draw a line in the box next to the shape.
After you have completed your shape hunt, count up the lines on your tally chart.
Which shape did you see the most?
Which shape did you see the least?
Today's storybook is called 'Jack and the Beanstalk'. Follow Jack up the beanstalk and read about his encounters with the giants, the hen that lays the golden eggs and the silver harp. Click on the icon below to read this story.
