In Reception, we use Read Write Inc Phonics to give your child the best possible start with their literacy. The children learn 44 sounds and the corresponding letters using simple picture prompts. The children learn to read words using Fred talk and sound blending. The children learn to form letters and write words by using Fred Talk. At home, read as many stories to your child as you can. Talk about the stories and show the fun that can be gained by listening to stories. What you read to your child today, they will be able to read for themselves very soon.
