Now you have watched the video, can you tell your grown ups the answers to these questions?
What do most plants start off as?
Can you remember some of the things that plants need to grow?
What would you plant your seed in to?
What starts to 'poke' through the soil when the plant starts to grow?
What happens if the plant doesn't get water or sunlight?
Maths Time
Today we are going to continue learning about taking away or 'subtracting.'
In your busy work books, write out the sum. Then underneath you need to draw the same amount of dots as the biggest number in the sum. So if it is '5 - 3', draw 5 dots. After you have done this, cross out the amount of dots you need to take away.
Here is an example for you:
There are now 2 dots left so the answer is 2. Can you write the answer after the =
Now, have a go at doing these ones on your own:
4 - 1 =
6 - 5 =
12 - 3 =
Challenge: Can you try and work some out sums in your head. You need to put the biggest number in you head and the smallest number onto your fingers. Now count backwards to find the answer.
5 - 2 =
10 - 4 =
15 - 6 =
Well done!
Today's story is called 'Little Acorn.' Follow the adventure as the Acorn goes from a little seed to a big oak tree. Can you spot some of the ways that the Acorn grew in the story?
