Maths Time
Today, at Maths Time, we are going to continue solving problems, using our addition brains to help us.
The first one has been done for you. 

Miss Dodgson has 6 sweets and Mr Kirkbride has 5 sweets. How many sweets do we have altogether?

To help us find the answer, we are going to draw the two different amounts of sweeties from the problem. So, first, we will need 6 sweets, and then 5 more, like this:

1. Olivia has 5 smiley face stickers. Her friend gave her 4 more. How many stickers does she have altogether?

2. On Saturday, Josh scored 7 goals. On Sunday, he scored 3 goals. How many goals did he score at the weekend?

3. Lily had 8 pennies. Her mum gave her 5 more. How many pennies does she have altogether?

4. There were 10 people on the bus. At the bus stop, 6 more people get on the bus. How many people are on the bus now?

Story Time
Our story today is called 'Open Very Carefully'. The story starts with the Mother Duck and her little ducklings, but there is a big surprise waiting inside. How are they going to get rid of this unwelcome guest? As you read along, talk to your grown up about how you would get rid of the crocodile.
