Today's new sound is a special sound, because it is a special friend. It has two letters but it only makes one sound. It is the 'th' sound.

 Parents: Look at the pictures below with your child. Say each object name, and ask your child to repeat the words after you.

 Parents: To help your child remember the two letters in the new sound, tell them this story - "The Princess in the tower is saved by the horse, thank you, says the Princess". Now, look at the pictures below with your child. Point to one of the pictures, and ask your child whether it is 'th' or 'thank you'. Repeat a few times, getting quicker each time.
