Lots of our work this week will be linked to the story, 'Jasper's Beanstalk', when Jasper watches and waits every day for his seed to grow.
Children will be learning the order of the days of the week and also beginning to understand (and use) the vocabulary of 'today', 'tomorrow' and 'yesterday'.
As Jasper's beanstalk begins to grow it is initially very small but eventually grows much bigger/ taller.
We will be measuring and comparing the lengths of toys and the heights of children and teachers, talking about longer / shorter and taller / shorter.
Compare the people in your home: who is the tallest? shortest?
Compare and measure objects in your home: which is the longest/ shortest sock? carrot? piece of spaghetti?
