Ask your child to find 2 shapes that are the same shape.
First, point to one of the shapes and ask your child to look closely and point to a shape that looks the same as yours.
Next, talk to your child about matching the round curved shapes (circles), and the shapes with 3 pointed corners (triangles).
You can use the correct names of the shapes as you play, but don't worry if your child confuses the names at this stage.
Saying the number names in order in number songs helps children to remember the order of numbers necessary for counting.
