Our rhyme this week is 'I'm a little teapot'.
Today, children will be drawing, painting and colouring teapots.
(If children struggle to draw their own teapot at home, you could draw it for them).
Continuing our topic of 'Food', and talking about healthy food, children will be making baked beans with bread and butter for their snack today.
They will be using a spoon to add beans to their bowl and mixing and then using a small knife to spread butter onto their bread.
Children can then dip their bread and eat their beans. "Mmmmmm".
Phonics - we will be emphasising the 'b' sound at the start of the words 'beans', 'bread' and 'butter' and will be looking for other items/ toys/ pictures of things beginning with 'b', eg. bed, ball, book, bag.
In today's session, children will repeat some of the dances and movements learned over the past half term, developing their physical control, strength and stamina as they move to the music.
Choose your favourite music/ dance....
Our thrill today will be a tea-party.
As a group, we will look and talk about the process of making a pot of tea, with both tea bags and tea leaves. We will talk about using a kettle to boil the water as well as staying safe in the kitchen.
Later at snack-time, children will have 'afternoon tea' with tea and biscuits.
They will add their own milk and sugar to their tea, using sachets and mini-pots.
This week we have drawn a teapot, we've had a tea party. Now let's sing a song about being a little teapot!
Now we'll sing about foods which we like. But do they go together? We can think about foods which go together or do not!
