Fun-day Focus

Make-it Monday

Our topic this week is Spring and New Life.

We will be looking for signs of spring outside and talking about baby animals that are born in the springtime.

Today the children will be making cards for Spring.

Taste-it Tuesday

Today the children will be making chocolate crispy cakes, to look like nests with chocolate eggs inside.

You will need:

  • cupcake cases

  • Melt the chocolate in a small bowl placed over a pan of barely simmering water.
  • Pour the chocolate over the shredded wheat and stir well to combine.
  • Spoon the chocolate wheat into 12 cupcake cases and press the back of a teaspoon in the centre to create a nest shape.
  • Place 2 or 3 mini chocolate eggs on top of each nest.
  • Chill the nests in the fridge for 2 hrs until set.

Wiggle Wednesday

Moving to music is good fun and improves children's physical skills as they develop balance and coordination. It is also good exercise and increases physical stamina.

Thrilling Thursday

An easter egg hunt with eggs outside (or inside if wet!)

Talk to your child as they look for the eggs- use positional language - over, under, next to, beside, in front, behind. Are the eggs high or low?

How many eggs can your child find? Count each egg by touching as you count with them. Who has more eggs? Who has less eggs?

Funky Friday

We have found the hidden eggs so let's sing a song about where things are!

Here We Go

Now we will sing a song moving forwards, backwards and round and round- the hokey cokey song.

Now let's sing a listening game.
